During an interview with ABC News reporter George Stephanopoulos on Wednesday, President Biden downplayed the horrifying moment Afghans desperately attempted to flee the country and fell from US Air Force cargo planes.

Biden dismissed the situation that shocked the world by falsely claiming the incident occurred "four" to "five" days ago when only two days had passed since the images first surfaced.

In fact, Biden interrupted Stephanopoulos when the reporter asked him to provide his personal thoughts on witnessing the horrifying moment.

"We've seen those hundreds of people packed into a C-17. We've seen Afghans falling—" Stephanopoulos said.

"That was four days, five days ago," Biden interrupted.

Stephanopoulos then asked, "What did you think when you first saw those pictures?"

"What I thought was, we have to gain control of this. We have to move this more quickly. We have to move in a way in which we can take control of that airport. And we did," Biden replied.
