In the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn last week, a 65-year-old woman was chased and attacked in an attempted robbery.

The New York Police Department 88th Precinct released surveillance video of the attack, which occurred just before 5 pm on September 28, near Willoughby Avenue and St Edwards Street.

Video shows the assailant ditch his bicycle, chase the woman into the middle of the street, and grab her bags.

The assailant then punches and slaps the woman several times, desperately trying to hold her bags as she is dragged to the ground.

According to PIX 11, the woman could keep her purse, which reportedly contained money from cashing in aluminum cans.

The thief later flees the scene empty-handed.

The woman was transported to the hospital, suffering injuries to her face, pain in her back, and abrasions on her body.

As of October 6, no arrests had been made.
